How matches are counted
Matches are counted from left to right without overlapping: searching for aa in
aaaa finds 2. The search ignores upper and lower case unless you tick
Case sensitive.
Tick Whole words only to count a word on its own but not inside longer words: searching
for cat then matches "cat" but not "category". Every match is highlighted in the preview
below the text.
Uses
Checking how often a keyword appears in an article, counting a name or term in a transcript, finding repeated words in your writing, or counting a character such as commas or tabs in a line of data.
